The KA840BS0 servo motor is produced by Sanyo Denki within the K SANMOTION Servo Motors series. It is a permanent-magnet DC unit equipped with an electromagnetic brake and an incremental encoder, allowing motion controllers to position loads with high precision. In automated assembly cells, packaging stations, and small machining axes, the motor converts drive current into controlled rotary torque and supplies feedback for closed-loop regulation, while the brake maintains the load position when motor power is removed.
An armature resistance of 0.95 Ω represents the electrical load encountered by the drive during current rise, while the continuous stall torque of 1.70 N·m indicates the steady load the motor can hold without overheating. The winding draws 5.7 A from the rated armature supply of 85 V to reach a nominal operating speed of 2500 rpm, where the shaft delivers 1.53 N·m of torque. A torque constant of 0.31 N·m/A relates commanded current to produced torque, and the encoder provides 2000 P/R incremental pulses for position and speed feedback.
