Product Description:
The KA720TXX servo motor is produced by Sanyo Denki as part of the K SANMOTION Servo Motors series. It is a brushless unit intended to provide precise closed-loop torque and speed control in positioning axes, pick-and-place heads, and other automated assemblies. When paired with a compatible drive, the motor converts electrical current into rotational motion that can be regulated to a fraction of a revolution. This controlled response supports repeatable movement in machinery that requires accurate positioning, stable velocity, and consistent operation across repeated production cycles.
At its rated operating point, the motor delivers 0.64 N·m of torque while turning at 3000 rpm, producing 200 W of mechanical power. These values are achieved with an armature supply of 80 V and a phase current of 3.4 A, so the connected drive must maintain the required current during continuous operation. The rotor inertia is 1.47 × 10⁻⁴ kg·m², allowing rapid acceleration and deceleration during short positioning cycles. The motor weighs 2.15 kg, which limits the load placed on the machine structure and mounting surface. A molded harness with 1000 mm lead wires simplifies cable routing between the motor and the control cabinet while providing a secure electrical connection.
During transient demands, the electromagnetic system can sustain 0.77 N·m continuously at stall and reach 5.4 N·m momentarily, providing additional torque for indexing or clamping cycles. The square 76 mm mounting flange fits common gearheads, and the keyed output shaft provides positive engagement with couplings or pulleys. The enclosure has an IP43 rating, protecting the internal windings against solid objects larger than 1 mm and water sprayed at an angle. A built-in tachogenerator supplies analog speed feedback for compatible velocity-control loops. Its rotor inertia is 0.12 × 10⁻⁴ kg·m², so the feedback device adds little rotational load to the motor shaft.
