Product Description:

The KA506XS0 is produced by Sanyo Denki under the K SANMOTION Servo Motors series. It is a permanent-magnet AC unit engineered to convert drive current into controlled rotary motion for positioning tables, indexing conveyors, and other servo-regulated mechanisms in industrial automation. When integrated with a matching amplifier, the motor enables closed-loop speed and torque control so multiple axes can be synchronized, repeatable cycle times can be maintained, and settling errors can be reduced during rapid start-and-stop sequences.

The winding draws a rated armature current of 1.1 A when the terminals receive an armature voltage of 75 V. Magnetic flux builds quickly because the electrical time constant is only 0.47 ms, allowing current to reach a steady state before mechanical motion becomes appreciable. The copper windings have a resistance of 9.4 Ω and an inductance of 4.4 mH. These values help determine the PWM switching frequency needed for smooth torque production and limit ripple current during dynamic reversals. The back-EMF coefficient is 17.8 × 10⁻³ V per rpm, so the controller receives approximately 17.8 mV for each rpm of motor speed and can calculate speed without an external encoder when necessary.

At a rated speed of 3000 rpm, the motor delivers a continuous torque of 0.19 N·m and produces 60 W of shaft power for light conveyors, dispensers, or servo grippers. The rotor inertia is 0.22 × 10⁻⁴ kg·m², and the mechanical time constant of 7.2 ms indicates that the shaft accelerates rapidly when commanded. A torque constant of 0.17 N·m/A relates commanded current to generated torque for drive tuning. The square flange measures 54 mm and has 4.5 mm mounting holes, allowing the motor to be secured to a compatible machine surface. The motor has an overall mass of 0.80 kg, which helps reduce the load added to moving machine elements. Its compact flange and low mass make it suitable for installations where available mounting space and moving weight are limited.
