The KA406XXX is a brushless servo motor produced by Sanyo Denki for the K SANMOTION Servo Motors series. In motion-control assemblies, this compact rotary unit couples to a drive amplifier and follows position, velocity, and torque commands for light-duty axes such as laboratory feeders or miniature pick-and-place heads. By converting electrical input into regulated mechanical rotation, it supports closed-loop automation tasks that require repeatable speed and moderate power in limited space.
The electromagnetic design centers on a nominal winding voltage of 70 V, which allows the drive to operate from low-voltage DC bus supplies typically used in small machines. At this voltage, the armature draws 1.2 A under rated load, and that current combines with the coil resistance of 9.8 Ω to determine steady-state copper loss. When the motor spins at its rated speed of 3000 rpm, the shaft delivers 60 W of mechanical output. The torque constant is 0.177 N·m/A, providing a proportional relationship between armature current and generated torque. An armature inductance of 4.5 mH limits current ripple, and a back electromotive force gradient of 18.5 × 10⁻³ V/rpm helps the drive regulate velocity.
