Product Description:
The KA404TXX belongs to the K SANMOTION Servo Motors series from Sanyo Denki. This servo motor has a 42 mm frame and is intended for compact positioning axes and feedback-regulated speed loops used in pick-and-place stations, labeling machines, and light conveyor drives. Within an automation cell, it converts regulated armature voltage into shaft torque that a motion controller can precisely modulate, providing accurate response without excessive power demand.
With a supply voltage of 72 V, the winding draws up to 0.9 A and produces a continuous shaft torque of 0.13 N·m. When the shaft turns at the nominal speed of 3000 rpm, the motor delivers 40 W of output power for small end effectors. The square flange measures 42 mm on each side, allowing the motor to mount to miniature gearheads without adapters. With a mass of 0.49 kg and a rotor inertia of 0.084 × 10-4 kg·m², the motor accelerates quickly and imposes a low reflected load on linear elements. The drive electronics must provide a load resistance of at least 10 kΩ to the integrated tachogenerator so that its feedback voltage remains linear during speed regulation.
The motor produces command torque according to a torque constant of 0.174 N·m/A, allowing control loops to calculate torque response from current estimates. Dynamic performance is influenced by the armature’s electrical parameters. An inductance of 7.6 mH limits the rate of current change, while an internal resistance of 16.8 Ω affects copper loss at the rated current. The tachogenerator has an inductance of 5 mH and a resistance of 37 Ω, generating feedback voltage that the servo amplifier uses for speed-error correction. The IP43 housing protects internal components from solid objects larger than 1 mm and from water spray at angles up to 60 degrees from vertical, making the motor suitable for installation in enclosed machinery.
