Sanyo Denki’s GADSA03LH24 is an AC servo amplifier in the G Sanmotion AC Servo Amplifiers series. The module supplies controlled three-phase power to matched Sanyo Denki servomotors, enabling precise velocity and torque regulation in automated production equipment. By converting a fixed AC mains input into a variable, feedback-regulated output, the unit forms the interface between a motion controller and the motor windings, supporting closed-loop control in pick-and-place stations, packaging lines, and general machine tools.
The amplifier accepts a single-phase or three-phase 200 VAC supply and draws 6.9/7.0 Arms from the mains at full load. The internal power stage has an amplifier capacity of 30 A, while the drive can continuously deliver 5.2 Arms to the motor terminals through an IGBT-based sinusoidal PWM control system. For networked motion, the unit communicates over EtherCAT, and the control electronics consume 0.3 Arms. A built-in dynamic brake circuit dissipates kinetic energy during emergency stops. Category III overvoltage compliance supports installation on industrial distribution panels. The STO section incorporates a delay circuit that removes power from the output stage in a controlled manner.
During short acceleration periods, the amplifier supplies a peak current of 16.3 Arms, allowing motors with an output of up to 1.5 kW to accelerate without stalling. The power section requires a feeder capable of supplying 2.4 kVA of apparent power. The velocity regulation range is 1:5000, allowing smooth operation at low and high speeds with the same amplifier. Regenerated energy is routed to an external resistor, and the system requires a minimum resistance of 10 Ω to limit the resistor’s operating temperature. This arrangement reduces thermal stress while maintaining controlled deceleration during fault or shutdown commands.
