Internal Product Review

The GADSA03LA22 is a Sanyo Denki G Sanmotion AC servo amplifier with a 200 VAC input class and 1.5 kW max motor output. Continuous output of 5.2 Arms and peak output of 16.3 Arms support stable servo response during demanding load changes. Velocity control at 1:5000 and a 10x rotor inertia load ratio make this amplifier a strong choice for precise motion applications.

Product Description:

The GADSA03LA22 is an AC servo amplifier manufactured by Sanyo Denki for the G Sanmotion AC Servo Amplifiers series. It interfaces between a motion controller and a three-phase servo motor, regulating current and voltage so closed-loop drives can position axes accurately in packaging lines, pick-and-place heads, and other industrial automation equipment. Its digital general-purpose outputs use a sinking topology for direct PLC interfacing. The STO safety channel operates without delay, allowing motor torque to be removed immediately when the channel is activated.

The amplifier has a rated capacity of 30 A, which is the maximum line-side current the power stage can process before protective limits engage. Under normal operating loads, the unit delivers a continuous phase current of 5.2 A RMS. Short acceleration bursts are supported by a peak current of 16.3 A RMS, helping the servo overcome friction and inertial loads. The input section is designed for a 200 VAC class supply and draws 6.9/7.0 A RMS, depending on whether the mains supply uses three-phase or single-phase service. Overall line demand does not exceed 2.4 kVA, which supports appropriate transformer and circuit breaker selection. The auxiliary control circuit draws only 0.3 A RMS, keeping its contribution to panel power demand low. Regenerative energy is directed through an external resistor with a minimum resistance of 10 Ω to prevent thermal overload.

The amplifier drives motors with outputs up to 1.5 kW while maintaining a velocity regulation range of 1:5000. This range allows the same axis to move slowly during alignment or reach its rated speed without requiring hardware changes. The unit can stabilize loads with reflected inertia as high as 10 times the rotor inertia, which supports applications where gear reducers increase the rotating mass reflected to the motor. It withstands vibration levels of 6 m/s² during operation. The amplifier also tolerates shocks up to 20 m/s², supporting cabinet-mounted or machine-mounted operation in applications exposed to mechanical impacts.
