The GADSA02AA22 servo amplifier is built by Sanyo Denki for the G Sanmotion AC Servo Amplifiers series. It receives input power and delivers regulated current to a matched rotary motor, acting as the link between a motion controller and the mechanical axis. By executing position, speed, and torque commands, the unit supports coordinated movement in assembly stations, pick-and-place heads, and compact machining centers. Its control functions allow the connected axis to respond to changing motion commands while maintaining stable operation under varying loads.
The amplifier has a maximum current of 20 A, while continuous operation is limited to 3.1 Arms and short bursts can reach 12.0 Arms. These currents are produced by an IGBT sinusoidal PWM stage that modulates the 50/60 Hz mains supplied through the 200 VAC input terminals. A velocity range of 1:5000 supports precise indexing at low speeds and sustained movement at higher speeds. The drive executes position, speed, and torque loops concurrently, allowing it to adapt to different control modes without separate amplifier hardware. Its sinking general-purpose outputs connect directly to compatible PLC inputs for status reporting and control coordination. The STO channel operates without a delay circuit, so motor power is removed immediately when the enable signal drops. Diode temperature is monitored internally to prevent excessive thermal loading during demanding operating cycles.
The built-in regenerative path can absorb up to 20 W through a 17 Ω resistor, helping prevent overvoltage while the matched 400 W servomotor decelerates. To supply both the control logic and power stage, the inverter requires 0.8 kVA from the cabinet transformer, which helps limit the electrical load placed on the supply system. The unit tolerates vibration levels of up to 6 m/s² during transport and withstands in-service shocks of up to 20 m/s². A sealed heat sink fin array dissipates heat from the power electronics and supports stable component temperatures during continuous operation.
