In an automation cell, the unit supplies regulated power and processes feedback so a matched servomotor can follow precise torque, speed, or position commands generated by a motion controller. By routing drive energy, monitoring return signals, and supervising fault states, the amplifier forms the active interface between low-level control logic and the mechanical axis that it powers.
The power stage is rated for a maximum phase current of 10 A, yet under continuous duty it delivers 1.2 Arms to the motor windings while auxiliary electronics draw only 0.5 Arms through the control circuit. Short-duration acceleration events may reach the permitted peak of 4.3 Arms without triggering overcurrent protection. The internal bus is supported by a supply rated at 0.4 kVA, and an external resistor of at least 25 Ω can be added if regenerative energy exceeds the capacity of the built-in 25 Ω element, which dissipates 5 W of dynamic braking heat. Command inputs accept either ±10 V analog velocity references or differential A/B/Z pulse trains; this dual-mode analog and pulse interface supports use in mixed-signal installations. Two sinking general-purpose outputs report amplifier status. The STO function is provided without delay circuitry for direct integration with safety relays.
The drive supports motors up to 200 W, so it is sized for small pick-and-place heads, indexing tables, or vision-guided actuators. Closed-loop tuning can maintain stable operation across a velocity range of 1:5000, allowing the amplifier to handle both slow positioning and rapid traverse requirements. The amplifier tolerates shocks up to 20 m/s² and vibrations up to 6 m/s², helping it maintain electrical performance when mounted on moving machine frames or exposed to impacts on the plant floor. Its compact format allows installation in control panels where available mounting space is limited. Regulated motor power and feedback processing are housed in the same unit, reducing the number of separate components required between the motion controller and the connected axis.
