Product Description:

The SCE906NN-050-01 is a servo drive manufactured by Pacific Scientific as part of the SCE900 Servo Drives series. Designed for closed-loop motion systems, the unit converts fixed-frequency three-phase mains into a regulated DC bus and pulse-width-modulated output that powers a resolver-feedback brushless motor. By managing current and velocity loops internally, this drive provides the torque and speed control required for packaging lines, pick-and-place axes, and other automated equipment. It accepts either 400 VAC or 480 VAC three-phase mains, allowing installation in different regional power grids.

The power section delivers a continuous phase current of 22.5 A, allowing mid-frame synchronous motors to maintain rated torque without thermal overload. When supplied from 400 VAC input, the internal rectifier produces a 540 VDC bus, while 480 VAC input raises the bus to 650 VDC, giving extra voltage headroom for high-speed moves. Heat is removed passively through convection cooling with no fan, which eliminates maintenance items and permits panel mounting in sensitive environments. A carrier frequency of 20 kHz shapes the current ripple above the audible range, minimizing acoustic noise and improving torque linearity.

Motion commands can be delivered as differential analog, single-ended voltage, or incremental digital pulses. The position loop refreshes every 1 ms, and the velocity loop refreshes every 250 µs, so the drive reacts quickly to changing trajectories while accepting digital inputs up to 800 kHz. A resolver interface with 24 bits per revolution resolution supports fine interpolation, and its command windows of ±13.5 V differential and ±21 V single-ended accommodate most PLC control cards. Startup to full readiness takes 2.0 s. Operation is permitted up to 1500 m altitude, and a 1.17 mH line inductor limits surge energy.
