The SCE900 series is a family of compact digital AC servo drives for AC servomotors, using an onboard DSP to control current, speed, and position with parameters set entirely in software and stored in nonvolatile memory for repeatable setup.
Standard command interfaces include a ±10 V analog input for torque or velocity control plus multiple pulse-based interfaces—Step/Direction, Step Up/Step Down, and incremental encoder input—for position or speed control and electronic gearing follower operation. The drive commutates the motor with resolver-based sinusoidal control and provides an emulated incremental encoder output derived from the resolver, with selectable encoder-simulation resolutions up to 16,384 pulses per revolution. Functional expansion is handled through interchangeable option cards, including RS232/RS485 for PC-based setup and host communication, a SERCOS fiber-optic interface for multiaxis systems with expanded I/O, and a ServoBASICPlus programmable positioning card that can execute preprogrammed moves. The hardware platform emphasizes digital resolver-to-digital conversion with very high per-revolution position resolution, “signature” current modulation to reduce torque ripple, an IGBT PWM power stage with inaudible switching, and comprehensive diagnostics and protection including regeneration handling and thermal protection.
