The SCE905AN-002-01 is a high performance, medium power single axis servo drive that is designed to be coupled with brushless, 3-phase permanent magnet motors. The SCE905AN-002-01, along with other drives in the series, have very similar interfaces. These drives possess a similar control interface and the power electronics are compatible with U.S. 480 VAC lines as well as European 400 VAC 3-phase mains.

This drive has many useful features. This includes a completely digital DSP-based control with current loops and digital auto-tuning to aid in easy and predictable set-up. The unit also has system and application parameters set within its software. Additionally, the servo drive contains a Digital Resolver to Digital Converter that has a 24-bit position resolution. The drive also features Advanced Signature Series sinusoidal current control in order to support low shaft torque ripple as well as uniform control dynamics at various speeds. Moreover, the SCE905AN-002-01 possesses a modular construction along with a user removable option card that allows for easy configuration.

Option cards are available with the SCE905AN-002-01. These option cards expand the functionality of the servo drive and allow the user to adjust the unit to different parameters. The unit is delivered without being configured. To configure the servo drive, the user must first set the correct parameters. These parameter settings are stored within the unit’s EEPROM memory or within the option card. The EEPROM can support a minimum of 100,000 writes. On average, 1,000,000 writes can be supported by the EEPROM. In order to prevent un-authorized alterations of the drive’s parameters or personality, an option card can be removed after the parameters are set within the base of the servo drive.
