The SC953TN-501-01 servo drive is produced by Pacific Scientific within the SC900 Servo Drives series. As a single-axis controller, it converts three-phase power into controlled current and voltage for brushless servo motors used in pick-and-place gantries, packaging lines, and other position-based automation. Its integrated motion engine executes programmable positioning routines for one axis. That local control capability allows repetitive moves to run directly in the drive when the application does not require a separate motion controller for every command. Because the drive handles current regulation and motion execution in the same unit, response remains consistent during indexing, positioning, and short traverse moves.

At 25 °C under natural convection, the power stage sustains 7.5 A of output current and can deliver 2.2 kW of continuous mechanical power to the motor shaft. The power section is 96% efficient, so heat generation stays low during normal operation. For quick accelerations, the drive supplies 15.0 A peak current, raising available shaft power to 4.5 kW for short periods. It supports motors with up to 2 H of line-to-line inductance, which helps when pairing the unit with larger brushless servo motors. Short-term overload capability helps the axis overcome inertia at startup or during rapid changes in commanded speed.
