Pacific Scientific manufactures the SC935NN-001-01 as part of its SC900 Servo Drives series. This servo drive works as the power and control stage for a matched brushless motor, regulating current and velocity so the axis can follow commanded motion with stable response. It is intended for automated assembly, packaging, and material-handling equipment where repeatable starts, stops, and speed changes are required. The unit is offered as a standard model and operates from a 240 VAC three-phase supply.
The command interface accepts analog, incremental digital, or serial commands, while built-in communications use RS-232/485 serial links for setup and real-time diagnostics. With external forced-air cooling at ambient temperatures up to 50 °C, the power section can supply a continuous output of 30.0 A, which corresponds to 9.0 kW when the incoming line is 240 V three phase. For rapid acceleration or transient load events, the drive can deliver up to 60.0 A peak current for short intervals. This output allows the amplifier to support brief overload demand without interrupting normal closed-loop motion. IGBT switching and current-mode regulation help maintain phase balance and reduce torque ripple during operation.
The drive can accommodate motor windings from 0.5 H down to 0.5 mH, allowing it to work with both high-inductance torque motors and low-inductance high-speed servo motors. The housing does not use an internal fan, so heat is removed through the convection-cooled enclosure with the aid of cabinet airflow around the chassis. Even under that cooling arrangement, the power stage operates at 97% efficiency, which helps limit heat loss inside the cabinet and reduce wasted input power. Its peak power capacity reaches 18.0 kW for brief overload demand during acceleration and other short high-load events. This operating range gives the drive flexibility when paired with motors that have different electrical characteristics and duty cycles.
