The SC905-001-01 servo drive is produced by Pacific Scientific and belongs to the SC900 Servo Drives series. In automation cells, it functions as the power and control stage for brushless servomotors, converting DC bus energy into precisely modulated phase currents that govern speed, position, and torque. By pairing with motion controllers on assembly lines, pick-and-place axes, or packaging equipment, the unit supplies coordinated motion while its internal regulator supervises bus energy, motor feedback, and thermal conditions to keep production sequences accurate and repeatable.

Continuous-duty values describe the sustainable workload. The drive can deliver a continuous phase current of 30 A, producing up to 9 kW of mechanical power when supplied from the factory-set DC link at 320 VDC. Ripple on the output stage is minimized by a carrier that switches at 20 kHz, reducing audible noise and motor heating. With a power stage efficiency of 97%, most bus energy reaches the motor. The current regulator is tuned for motors whose line-to-line inductance lies between 0.5 mH and 0.5 H, and it broadcasts incremental encoder feedback at 16,384 pulses per revolution to external position loops.

Higher-demand transients are accommodated by a peak current capability of 60 A and a corresponding peak mechanical output of 18 kW for acceleration or shock loading. Closed-loop fidelity is maintained with an absolute accuracy of ±5.3 arc min and an internal position counter of 24 bit/rev. The analog or incremental digital command interface eliminates the need for fieldbus hardware, and all setup is performed locally because network communications are not provided. An integral 240 VAC cooling fan supports a 10% regeneration duty cycle, while a 20 kW shunt protects the bus. The housing measures 425 × 229 × 269 mm and includes a 200 mA user-supplied +5 V rail for external sensors.
