The SC725B001 command controller is a digital servo controller manufactured by Pacific Scientific within the SC720 Command Controllers series. As a closed-loop torque and velocity regulator, it forms the interface between a three-phase supply and brushless servomotors used in industrial automation cells, packaging lines, and material-handling stations. By converting line power to a controlled DC bus and synthesizing variable-frequency waveforms, the unit supports precise motion profiles for multi-axis machinery. It is intended for systems that need stable speed control and repeatable torque response during changing load conditions.
Incoming power is a 240 VAC three-phase supply, and it feeds an active rectifier that maintains a bus level of 320 VDC. From that bus, the drive can draw a continuous current of 29 Arms and return excess energy through a shunt rated at 200 W continuous and 20 kW peak. The inverter section supplies a continuous output current of 30 A, field-configurable to 40 A, which corresponds to a continuous shaft power of 9 kW. Current is switched at 20 kHz, which helps reduce acoustic noise and motor torque ripple during operation. The analog velocity loop can maintain an overall system accuracy of ±4 arcmin when paired with compatible servomotors.
