The analog velocity input accepts ±10 V so that external motion controllers can modulate speed without additional interface hardware.
During acceleration or rapid load changes, the amplifier can source a peak current of 60 A, allowing the motor to reach a peak torque of 89.6 Nm. In this transient mode, the power stage delivers 18 kW of shaft power, and the dynamic shunt absorbs up to 20 kW to protect the DC link. A carrier frequency of 20 kHz minimizes ripple and audible noise, supporting smooth motion profiles that match the unit’s specified accuracy. All of these capabilities are packaged in a chassis that weighs 40 lbs, making the 720 Series controller suitable for panel mounting in multi-axis automation cells where space and thermal budgets are constrained.
