By integrating drive and motion functions into one panel-mount unit, it translates motion commands from higher-level PLCs into precise phase currents that correspond to commanded positions.
During continuous operation on 115 VAC mains, the controller supplies up to 4.2 A of phase current, while the 230 VAC rating allows a sustained output of 3.5 A. Transient demands are handled by a peak capability of 7.0 A, and at 230 VAC this translates to a maximum instantaneous mechanical power of 2000 W. Motor current is generated with a pulse-width-modulated bridge that switches at an output ripple frequency of 20 kHz, keeping audible noise low and reducing torque ripple.
