The SC452-010-01 is a brushless servo controller produced by Pacific Scientific for the SC450 Brushless Servo Controllers series. It serves as a programmable digital position controller that translates motion commands from a PLC into phase-correct stator currents for a connected motor, enabling accurate axis positioning in assembly cells, conveyors, or packaging lines. By monitoring resolver feedback and modulating its power stage, the device maintains commanded positions and velocities without external motion modules.
This controller accepts resolver feedback for closed-loop operation. On a 115 VAC supply, it delivers a continuous output of 4.2 A, while on a 230 VAC line the continuous rating is 3.5 A. For rapid acceleration or short overloads, it can supply a peak current of 7.0 A, and when operated from 230 VAC the peak mechanical output reaches 2000 W. The power stage is pulse-width modulated at 20 kHz, a switching frequency selected to limit audible noise while keeping switching losses manageable.
