The SC423-402-T4 is a servo drive built by Pacific Scientific for motion systems that use the SC400 Servo Drives series. The unit converts single- or three-phase mains power into controlled DC power for permanent-magnet servomotors, delivering the velocity and torque commands needed in automated machinery and robotics. As a drive module, it regulates motor current and speed, closes the velocity loop with a tachometer feedback signal, and reports operating faults to the supervisory controller.
When the line supply is 115 VAC, the internal bus reaches 160 VDC; on a 230 VAC line, it rises to 320 VDC. Continuous motor current is limited to 4.2 A at 115 VAC and 3.5 A at 230 VAC. These limits keep the device within its thermal envelope, while the motor-current form factor remains below 1.01. With a three-phase 230 VAC supply, the drive can provide 1 kW of continuous electrical power, and its conversion efficiency exceeds 90 percent, reducing the heat load inside control cabinets.
