The SC400 Servo Drives are stand-alone brushless servo controllers designed to operate 3-phase permanent-magnet brushless servo motors and provide four-quadrant control of a single motor.
They run directly from 115/230 VAC line power (single- or three-phase, 47–63 Hz) and use high-frequency PWM current control (20 kHz ripple frequency) to achieve regulated motor current and stable servo performance. The series supports either torque-mode operation or velocity-mode operation when used with compatible commutation/velocity feedback devices such as a Tachsyn, with user-adjustable command gain, current limit, and velocity-loop gain/offset. Protection and fault handling are built in, including output short-circuit protection, controller overtemperature, DC bus overvoltage, control-voltage supervision, and a motor overtemperature input intended for a motor-mounted thermal sensor. For industrial installation, the SC400 units are open-frame controllers intended to be mounted vertically inside a ventilated cabinet, with full ratings specified from 0 to 50 °C, plug-in connectors for power/command/feedback wiring, and options such as a shunt regulator, custom compensation, a noise-reducing output toroid, and a safety cover.
