It provides power conversion and closed-loop control for brushless servo motors used in packaging, material handling, and indexing equipment. Within a cabinet, this unit links line voltage to motor windings, forms a regulated DC bus, and drives pulse-width-modulated phases so automated axes can achieve commanded speed and torque profiles.
Its internal rectifier produces a bus of 160 VDC when the supply is 115 VAC and 320 VDC from a 230 VAC line, giving headroom for peak motion events. Under continuous duty, the output stage delivers 7.5 A, and the thermal design supports 800 W on a 115 VAC single-phase feed or 1,575 W on a 230 VAC single-phase feed. The current regulator operates with a loop ceiling of 3 kHz, while the velocity path accepts a ±10 V differential signal. A carrier at 15 kHz modulates the IGBTs, minimizing audible noise and smoothing torque. Diagnostic circuitry provides a fault logic line that operates at up to 30 VDC with 25 mA sink capability. Momentary demands up to 15 A are available, and mechanical surges on 230 VAC can be met with 4,500 W of peak output.
With a three-phase 230 VAC source, the continuous mechanical output climbs to 2,250 W, enabling the drive to sustain high-inertia loads without saturation. The built-in tachometer interface recognizes feedback slopes down to 4.0 V/Krpm, allowing stable low-speed regulation when the motor provides a proportional voltage signal. Cabinet planners can stack multiple units side by side because the enclosure is only 4.5 in wide, which is useful in retrofits where rail space is limited. For 115 VAC sources, the peak rating is 2,250 W, which supports short-burst energy on lower mains without exceeding thermal thresholds.
