The SC403-014-T5 servo drive is produced by Pacific Scientific and belongs to the SC400 Servo Drives series. As an AC powered amplifier, it conditions incoming line voltage to supply controlled current to brushless or brushed servomotors, enabling precise torque and velocity loops on factory machinery, pick-and-place axes, and packaging equipment. It integrates with motion controllers through an analog velocity command, completing the feedback-based actuation chain in automated cells.
It accepts either single- or three-phase mains at 115 or 230 VAC within an input band of 47–63 Hz. From these sources the internal rectifier develops DC bus levels of 160 VDC when supplied from 115 VAC and 320 VDC from 230 VAC, giving the power stage the headroom required for rapid acceleration. Continuous output is rated at 1575 W on single-phase 230 VAC and 2250 W on three-phase 230 VAC, while delivering 7.5 A of armature current without thermal derating. A high-gain current regulator with a bandwidth up to 3 kHz permits tight torque control and low following error. Its form factor remains below 1.01, indicating minimal input current distortion under nominal load.
For transient events such as indexing moves, the amplifier supplies up to 15 A of phase current, translating to 2250 W peak on 115 VAC lines and 4500 W on 230 VAC feeds. The selectable AC source remains the same 115/230 VAC range, letting a single model cover low- and high-voltage installations without hardware changes. Command input is a differential analog signal of ±10 V, compatible with most motion controllers and ensuring linear velocity scaling across the motor’s speed band.
