The Pacific Scientific SC403-002 is part of the SC400 Servo Drives series and supports input voltages of 115 or 230 VAC for either single or three phase operation. The SC403-002 servo drive is produced by Pacific Scientific as part of the SC400 Servo Drives series. It is intended for closed-loop control of brushless servomotors used in positioning, material handling, and general automation axes. By supplying controlled current and voltage to the motor windings, the unit converts low-level motion commands from a motion controller into precise torque and speed, aligning the motor’s electromechanical output with the requirements of the machine cycle.
The drive has a continuous current rating of 7.5 A, making it suitable for medium-torque loads that require steady output without thermal derating. When connected to a three-phase 230 VAC supply, it can deliver continuous power of 2250 W, while the internal DC bus reaches 320 VDC after rectification and filtering to support rapid motor acceleration. Input can be sourced from either 115 VAC or 230 VAC mains, and the 115/230 VAC range simplifies installation in different facilities. A current-loop bandwidth of 3 kHz allows the servo amplifier to respond quickly to error signals and maintain tight torque regulation during fast trajectory changes.
For transient events such as rapid indexing, the amplifier supplies a peak current of 15 A, and its energy storage and switching devices support a peak mechanical power output of 4500 W on a 230 VAC line. The universal input frequency window of 47-63 Hz allows the unit to operate from either utility or generator sources without additional filtering. Wiring flexibility is supported because the control accepts single-phase or three-phase input, enabling both laboratory setups and production equipment. A differential velocity command range of ±10 V links directly to most motion controllers and provides an analog interface for speed-mode applications without extra scaling hardware.
