At 115 VAC line input, the internal bus is raised to 160 VDC, while a 230 VAC source produces a bus of 320 VDC; these fixed levels give the power stage consistent headroom for pulse-width modulation. Continuous motor current is rated at 4.2 A on the lower line and 3.5 A when the higher supply is used, matching the thermal limits of the output transistors. With a 230 VAC feed, the drive can supply up to 1000 W of mechanical power, and the 20 kHz ripple frequency keeps audible noise outside most audible ranges.
