Product Description:
The SC155-001-05 is a digital servo amplifier produced by Pacific Scientific in the SC100 Brushless Servo Controllers series. This controller operates three-phase brushless servo motors by converting line power into a pulse-width-modulated output that follows torque and velocity commands in automated machinery. When integrated into a motion axis, it supplies current and velocity control loops that work with the feedback circuit to maintain precise rotor alignment. These control capabilities make the unit suitable for packaging equipment, assembly robots, and material-handling systems that require accurate and repeatable motion.
Incoming power to the controller is rated at 230 VAC (+10%, -15%), allowing operation on standard industrial supplies without a step-down transformer. The power stage accepts an input frequency range of 47–63 Hz, covering both 50 Hz and 60 Hz power systems. Rectification and filtering create a DC bus held near 320 VDC. The power stage chops this bus at a 5 kHz switching frequency so the motor phase current tracks commanded vectors while limiting audible switching noise. With a drive section efficiency of greater than 95%, most of the supplied energy reaches the motor rather than being dissipated as heat, which reduces enclosure cooling requirements.
The controller is supplied as a standard controller, with its core I/O and protection functions included in the base configuration. It belongs to the Brushless Servo Controller product group, and its internal current sensors, resolver decoding, and fault logic support permanent-magnet motors. Full output ratings are available across an operating temperature range of 0 °C to 50 °C, allowing the unit to operate in many industrial production cells. When the controller is not operating, its permitted storage temperature range is -55 °C to 70 °C. This broad storage range helps protect the electronics during transportation and while the unit is kept in an unconditioned storage area.
