SC100 Brushless Servo Controllers

The SC100 Series are stand-alone brushless servo controllers intended to run Pacific Scientific (and other 3-phase permanent-magnet) brushless servo motors, providing four-quadrant control of a single axis using high-frequency PWM current regulation.

Depending on the motor feedback configuration, the controller can be set up to function as a torque block or as a velocity block when used with a Tachsyn tachometer. The line-powered design supports transformerless direct 230 VAC operation (creating a nominal ~320 VDC bus) and is offered in multiple models with output ratings spanning roughly 15–60 A peak and about 4–17 kW peak power. Command and setup features include selectable commutation transducer phasing and a velocity/command interface that supports either ±10 V bidirectional or 4–20 mA unidirectional inputs, along with integral fusing, dynamic braking, a built-in shunt regulator, and current-limit adjustment/programming. The units are open-frame for cabinet mounting and specify 0–50 °C full-rated operation with linear derating to 70% at 60 °C, plus built-in protective functions such as controller overtemperature, motor overtemperature input, tach fault/runaway protection, DC-bus fault monitoring, enable lockout, and I²t current foldback.
