The SC125-410-T4 brushless servo controller is produced by Pacific Scientific as part of the SC100 Brushless Servo Controllers series. The device converts fixed-frequency utility power into precisely modulated three-phase outputs that run permanent-magnet motors, allowing automation cells to adjust speed, torque, and direction through software commands. In addition to its power functions, the controller supplies feedback excitation and signal conditioning so motion axes can close velocity and position loops with minimal latency. This combination makes the unit suitable for pick-and-place gantries, indexing tables, and other equipment requiring coordinated, repeatable motion.
At the power input, the controller accepts 230 VAC (+10%, -15%) mains power within a line frequency range of 47–63 Hz, then rectifies and stores energy on a DC link regulated at 320 VDC. Pulse-width modulation is executed at 5 kHz, a rate that limits audible noise while keeping current ripple low. Even at this switching frequency, power-stage efficiency remains > 95%, helping enclosure designs stay within thermal limits by reducing waste heat. The elevated DC-link voltage also provides headroom for motors that generate substantial back electromotive force during rapid acceleration and high-speed operation.
The drive’s feedback section is built around a Tachsyn Processor, enabling direct connection to resolver-type tachometers and scaling velocity signals to the 4.0 V/Krpm factor required by compatible Pacific Scientific servomotors. Full output ratings are available across an operating temperature range of 0 °C to 50 °C, allowing the controller to maintain its rated performance under typical industrial cabinet conditions. Components can withstand nonoperating temperatures from -55 °C to 70 °C, permitting the controller to remain stored in facilities that experience a wide range of seasonal temperatures. Its mechanical dimensions and connector arrangement support integration with compatible motors, feedback devices, and power connections used in coordinated motion systems.
