The SC101-001-T4 is a brushless servo controller produced by Pacific Scientific as part of the SC100 Brushless Servo Controllers series. It conditions AC supply power and distributes regulated current to a matched permanent-magnet motor. This supports precise speed and torque regulation in automated packaging lines, pick-and-place gantries, and similar motion axes.

It draws single-phase 230 VAC with a tolerance of +10% and -15% from 47 to 63 Hz mains and internally raises it to a nominal 320 VDC bus. Under continuous operating conditions, it supplies 7.5 A of output current, which corresponds to 1.5 kW of mechanical drive power at the terminals. Heat created in the absorber circuit is managed by a shunt regulator that can dissipate 30 W without duty-cycle limits, while overall conversion efficiency stays above more than 95%, reducing cabinet cooling demand. Continuous ratings are available across the full ambient range of 0 °C to 50 °C, and the same figures apply at stall so the motor can hold position without derating. Normal storage is permitted from -55 °C to 70 °C. The controller is supplied as a standard build.

During transients, the drive delivers a peak output of 15 A for short intervals, translating to 4 kW of mechanical power that can overcome inertial loads. Excess regenerated energy is directed to the shunt network, where momentary absorption can reach 8 kW for 300 ms before the controller returns to its continuous baseline. Internal losses are limited to 60 W at full load, which simplifies enclosure ventilation calculations. Torque and speed commands are processed through a current loop that spans 800 Hz, while power devices are modulated at 5 kHz to balance acoustic noise with dynamic response. The Tachsyn processor accepts a 4.0 V/Krpm tachometer gradient, closing velocity feedback without external converters.
