The SC101-001-T3 is a brushless servo controller produced by Pacific Scientific within the SC100 Brushless Servo Controllers series. It regulates three-phase synchronous motors in machine tools, packaging equipment, and material-handling axes by translating position feedback from a Tachsyn processor into controlled current pulses. By combining a nominal DC bus with line-side rectification, the unit supplies the power stage and its shunt regulator so that regenerated energy is safely dissipated during deceleration.
The power section operates from a single-phase input of 230 VAC that can vary by +10%/-15% across an industrial line frequency range of 47–63 Hz. Internally, that line is converted to a nominal bus of 320 VDC, permitting continuous stall delivery without saturation. At full load, the controller reaches an efficiency greater than 95%, limiting self-heating to 60 W of dissipation while the switching devices commute motor phases at 5 kHz. Thermal ratings remain valid from 0 °C to 50 °C, and a cold-storage tolerance down to -55 °C protects the electronics during storage and transport. The continuous shunt circuit handles 30 W, and for braking events up to 300 ms it can absorb 8 kW so overvoltage does not propagate back to the mains. A tachometer gradient of 2.0 V/Krpm is expected by the velocity loop for proper feedback scaling.
The drive supplies a continuous stall current of 7.5 A, which corresponds to a mechanical output of 1.5 kW, while short four-second bursts can reach 15 A and deliver as much as 4 kW. These short-term ratings help the axis clear acceleration gaps or overcome static friction during demanding moves. Classified as a standard controller, the unit is supplied without customization for use in multi-drive installations.
