Product Description:
The S31HMAA-RNEE-00 is a brushless servo motor from Pacific Scientific in the S Brushless Motors series. This 6-pole Neodymium magnet motor is intended for closed-loop motion axes in industrial automation, where stable torque production and accurate feedback are required. It uses the H winding configuration, which sets the motor's thermal behavior and current density. Combined with a single-stack magnetic core, that winding gives the motor a compact form suited to drives that use resolver feedback. The motor is well suited to indexing tables, compact transfer axes, and other machinery that depends on repeatable positioning.
The electromagnetic section produces a continuous stall torque of 2.2 Nm and can reach a peak torque of 6.2 Nm during short acceleration periods. The torque constant is 0.7 Nm/ARMS, while the line-to-line resistance is 4.1 ohms. A line-to-line inductance of 10.3 mH influences current rise time and affects servo response. Rotor inertia is 0.18 × 10⁻³ kg·m², which helps the motor change speed quickly without demanding excessive drive effort. The balance of resistance and inductance supports predictable current control during normal servo operation. Power and feedback lines use Interconnectron connectors for straightforward plug-in cable attachment.
Mechanical integration follows the NEMA 34 frame outline and a metric mounting pattern, supporting installation with common gearheads and brackets. A 24 V dc brake holds position when drive power is removed, which is useful on vertical axes and other load-holding applications. During operation, the back EMF gradient is 0.44 VRMS/rad/sec, and the housing weighs 3.2 kg. Position feedback is provided by a size 21 frameless resolver, and there is no secondary feedback channel, which keeps the cabling simple. This arrangement suits compact servo axes that need controlled holding and responsive motion.
