The R8AGENA-R2-NS-NV-00 servo motor is manufactured by Pacific Scientific, which is a world leader in the production of drives and motors. This motor is in the R8A series which falls under the R product group. As such, it has the highest torque to inertia ratio in the industry. This high ratio is due to Samarium cobalt magnets found in the motor. Providing unparalleled velocity, speed, and torque control, it is engineered for high power and torque applications. The anti-cog stator design in the R8AGENA-R2-NS-NV-00 delivers smooth low-speed performance essential for most automation processes. It features rare earth magnet type, English shaft, and mounting, a standard sequence number, primary feedback of frameless resolver, transmitter, type 21. However, shaft sealing, holding brake option, and secondary feedback is missing in this nimble motor. This PacSci motor has low rotor inertia, which allows rapid acceleration and deceleration. It also has a maximum rated speed of 4,000 rpm, which makes it a good fit for high power applications.
The R8AGENA-R2-NS-NV-00 features a 240V ac and 320V dc bus operation, class H high-temperature insulation, overtemperature protection thermistor and an IP65 protection category among other state-of-the-art features. This PacSci motor features a continuous stall torque of 53.4Nm, peak torque of 109Nm, inertia of 10.8 kgm2x103, and thermal resistance of 0.21 deg. C/Watt. The 111-pound motor eliminates replacement of brush and handles the rigors of any factory floor.
