Under continuous load, the motor sustains 13.6 Nm of torque, which is the maximum torque it can maintain indefinitely without thermal derating. A 5.75-inch square frame sets the mounting footprint and provides surface area for heat dissipation. The rotor’s moment of inertia is 1.26 × 10⁻³ kg·m², enabling responsive acceleration while limiting overshoot on loads with light to medium inertia. The rated mechanical speed reaches 4300 rpm, so the shaft can follow high-velocity command profiles when the drive supplies adequate voltage and frequency. This speed range is achieved with a high-speed winding that has low inductance and permits rapid current changes. Internally, the magnetic stack measures 5 inches in length, adding active material for torque generation while keeping the overall motor size compact.
For transient demands, the shaft can produce 33.3 Nm of peak torque, providing additional capacity for acceleration spikes and brief overloads. Flux density is provided by rare-earth samarium-cobalt magnets, which retain magnetization at elevated temperatures and contribute to high torque density. Motion control loops receive analog position and velocity data from a Tachsyn resolver mounted on the rear end bell. The motor is supplied without a holding brake and has a shaft without a shaft seal, so external mechanisms are required when load retention or contamination protection is necessary.
