Product Description:
Pacific Scientific builds the R45GMNA-R2-NS-NV-00 as part of its R Servomotors series. The unit is a brushless AC servo motor intended for industrial automation applications where a controller requires accurate torque and position control on a rotating axis. Integrated into a drive system, it transforms electrical energy into mechanical motion so conveyors, pick-and-place stations, or indexing tables can follow programmed velocity and acceleration profiles without mechanical gearing.
At stall, the motor can deliver a continuous torque of 5.7 Nm, while short bursts can reach a peak torque of 15.1 Nm. These limits indicate how much load the shaft can hold continuously and how much torque is available for acceleration during rapid moves. Dynamic response is supported by a rotational inertia of 0.31 kg·m² × 10⁻³, balancing quick settling with stable speed regulation. The 4.25-inch-square laminated frame allows the motor to fit into compact machines that still require moderate power density. Torque density is further increased by magnets made from rare-earth samarium cobalt, which maintain magnetic flux at elevated winding temperatures and resist demagnetization under heavy current loads.
The motor has a metric mounting interface and a 5-inch stack length, providing fixed exterior dimensions for bracket or gearbox alignment. Rotor feedback is supplied to the drive through a size 21 frameless resolver, and no secondary transducer is fitted. This arrangement simplifies wiring while providing the position data required for motor commutation. The motor has no shaft seal, so external sealing may be necessary when the installation is exposed to fluids or other contaminants. It is also supplied without a holding brake, which means gravity-loaded axes or stationary loads require an external holding device when drive torque is unavailable.
