Pacific Scientific’s R35KEAP-R2-NS-NV-00 belongs to the R Servomotors series and is supplied as a brushless servo motor for industrial automation. It provides closed-loop torque and speed control so machine axes can be positioned repeatedly with high accuracy. Typical applications include packaging lines, pick-and-place gantries, and process equipment in which electric actuation replaces pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
The motor can develop a continuous stall torque of 3.8 N·m without exceeding its thermal limit, while short-term overloads are supported by a peak torque of 10.1 N·m. A rated speed of 4200 rpm is the maximum continuous shaft velocity supported by the windings and rare-earth samarium-cobalt magnets. Dynamic response is aided by a rotor inertia of 0.13 × 10⁻³ kg·m², allowing the motor to accelerate quickly with modest drive current. The explosion-proof housing permits installation in classified areas that may contain flammable vapors. A 24 V DC brake clamps the shaft whenever control power is removed, helping prevent uncommanded motion on vertical loads or indexing tables. Mounting follows English bolt patterns for compatibility with corresponding machine brackets and mounting plates.
The motor has a 3.25-inch square frame, providing a compact outline for installation in existing brackets. Position and velocity feedback are provided by a frameless transmitter-type size 21 resolver, which generates analog sinusoidal signals that compatible digital drives can interpolate at high resolution. The medium-high stator winding works with the 5-inch stack length to increase torque density without enlarging the frame cross section. Its resistance and back electromotive force are suitable for common drives that use a 160–320 V DC bus. The motor has no secondary feedback channel, so the primary resolver supplies the required motion data. The shaft is supplied without a seal, and applications exposed to fluids require an external coupling guard or another suitable form of ingress protection.
