Product Description:
The R32HENC-R2-NF-NV-00 is a brushless servo motor produced by Pacific Scientific within the R Servomotors series. Designed for closed-loop motion axes, this motor converts drive current into precise shaft rotation for pick-and-place units, feeders, and other automated machinery. Its rare-earth samarium-cobalt magnets and two-inch magnetic stack support tight velocity and position control without adding excessive mass to the machine frame.
The motor can deliver a continuous shaft torque of 1.7 Nm at stall, while short bursts of up to 4.40 Nm accommodate acceleration profiles or transient overloads. A rated mechanical speed of 7000 rpm pairs with the High Speed winding set, allowing the drive to command rapid operating cycles when required. Rotor inertia is only 0.071 kg·m² × 10⁻³, which minimizes servo lag and reduces the gain needed in the velocity loop. The low inertia supports fast acceleration and deceleration, while the samarium-cobalt magnet material maintains its field strength at elevated temperatures. This combination also helps the axis maintain stable holding accuracy under changing operating conditions.
The motor has a 3.25-inch square frame that follows English mounting patterns, making it compatible with common NEMA-style gearheads. Housing style C provides straight-through cooling airflow and leaves space for the feedback devices. Primary position sensing is provided by a frameless resolver, which supplies durable analog rotor-position feedback for closed-loop control. A secondary 1000 ppr encoder with a line-driver interface supplies incremental digital position data to compatible controllers. The unit has no shaft seal, so the installation should prevent contaminants from reaching the shaft opening. It is also supplied without an integral brake, requiring an external holding mechanism when the load must remain secured after power is removed.
