The R32GENP-R2-NS-NV-00 is one of the high performance brushless servomotors by Pacific Scientific in its R32 series. The company has earned a very good name for itself by being able to produce a large range of motors to meet almost any requirement. The small size and 2.5kg lightweight aspects make the black colored synchronous four-pole motor the right choice for use in areas where space is truly a constraint. The unit houses a washdown rugged TENV construction with an IP65 rating.
The motor is enclosed in a square frame and showcases a height or width of 3.25 inches. The unit supports G type winding and a magnetic stack that is nearly two inches long. The explosion proof feature ensures that the motor is apt for use in high temperature environments. The device is encased with Class H high temperature insulation and a thermistor for protection against over temperatures. The servomotor incorporates English mounting style and does not make use of a holding brake or a shaft seal. It also does not depict secondary feedback. The brushless motor utilizes a transmitter type frameless resolver of size 21 to generate the primary feedback.
The synchronous unit is best for applications related to speed and position control that require maximum performance. The stator has an anti-cog design while the rotor is designed to produce low inertia for quick acceleration and deceleration. The rare earth samarium-cobalt permanent magnets avoid demagnetization and render maximum torque-to-inertia ratio. The motor has a typical operating speed of 4,000RPM. The servomotor has a line-to-line inductance of 23mH and a line-to-line resistance of 7.3 Ohms, along with a continuous stall current of 2.9A and a continuous stall torque of 1.7Nm. The motor also features maximum static friction of 0.03Nm, peak torque of 4.4Nm and 8.7A current rating at peak torque.
