The R32GENC-R2-NS-VS-01 is a servo motor produced by Pacific Scientific for the R Servomotors series. The unit converts drive current into controlled rotary motion for positioning tasks in automated machinery, including indexing tables, pick-and-place heads, and modest-power axes. Its electromechanical design uses a brushless permanent-magnet motor platform that works with digital servo drives in industrial automation. Closed-loop control allows the connected drive to regulate shaft position, speed, and torque as operating demands change.
The motor provides a continuous stall torque of 1.7 Nm, allowing the shaft to hold a load at zero speed without exceeding its continuous thermal capacity. When rapid acceleration is required, the electromagnetic design can produce a peak torque of 4.40 Nm for short bursts during start-stop cycles. The rotor has a reflected inertia of 0.071 kg·m² × 10⁻³, helping the motor respond quickly when the drive commands reversals or rapid speed changes. A 3.25-inch square frame provides compact mounting dimensions for machinery that uses third-generation servo footprints. The motor supports rated operation at 4000 rpm, making it suitable for applications that obtain moderate linear speeds through belt drives or gearbox reductions. This speed also keeps the required electrical frequency within the range of typical compatible servo drives.
The enclosure uses Housing Style C, which places the power connectors on the rear face for easier cable routing in confined installations. Primary position feedback comes from a frameless size-21 resolver, which supplies rotor-angle information to the servo drive for closed-loop control. The motor is supplied without a holding brake, so stationary loads must be retained by drive-applied torque or an external locking mechanism when necessary.
