Pacific Scientific manufactures the R24HSNA-R1-NS-VS-06, a member of its R Servomotors series. The unit is an AC servo motor intended to drive machine-tool tables, packaging axes, and other high-response loads in automated cells. By combining a compact 2-inch frame with high-speed windings and built-in resolver feedback, it supplies precise shaft position information to the drive while keeping the overall envelope small for dense multi-axis assemblies. This layout makes the motor suitable for equipment where compact packaging and accurate motion control are both important.

The motor delivers a continuous stall torque of 1.1 Nm. When the application demands short bursts of extra force, peak torque rises to 3.07 Nm, allowing quick acceleration of attached loads. A rated speed of 7700 rpm pairs with the unit’s High Speed winding to favor fast-cycle machines where velocity is prioritized over high continuous torque. Mechanical size is represented by the 2.0" OD round frame, so the motor mounts easily into standardized clamps and end bells. Rotor inertia is only 0.021 kgm²×10⁻³, which helps reduce settling time and supports responsive position control in indexing and pick-and-place systems.

The rotor magnets are made from rare earth samarium cobalt, a material that maintains flux density at elevated temperatures and supports compact motor output. A Viton shaft seal is fitted to limit lubricant migration into the resolver cavity, and the standard housing style provides a smooth cylindrical surface that promotes airflow. The stack length is 4 inches, which provides the iron volume needed for the motor’s torque capacity while keeping the unit compact. The motor is supplied without a holding brake, and primary motion feedback is provided by a frameless size-15 resolver. No secondary feedback device is installed, so position sensing is handled through the primary resolver arrangement.
