Product Description:

The R22HDNA-R1-NS-NV-01 is a Pacific Scientific’s R series servo motor. It features 2-inches of outer diameter and uses a NEMA mounting format for mechanical integration. The motor is designed with totally enclosed non-ventilated (TENV) case and it meets IP65 standards to ensure resistance against dust and water ingress.

The R22HDNA-R1-NS-NV-01 motor offers a continuous stall torque of 0.54 Nm and its peak torque capacity is 5.6 Nm. Its torque constant stands at 0.18 Nm/A while its back EMF constant is measured at 0.18 V/rad/sec. This motor comes with a rotor inertia of 0.000011 kg·m² and its inductance between line-to-line measures 5.3 mH. Its resistance between lines is 16 Ohms at cold temperature and lowers to 8.1 Ohms at 100 K. The R22HDNA motor draws 3.3 A in continuous load conditions and at full load the current utilization is 66 A. It includes a frameless size 15 resolver for primary feedback, to keep motion and speed in check. There is no secondary feedback device integrated into this model but if the need arises, it supports a second device as well. This motor does not have the shaft together with a sealing ring and it has standard MS connector on the end of it leads to offer flexible and safe electrical connection.

The R22HDNA-R1-NS-NV-01 motor has a temperature impedance of 1.43°C/watt along with thermal time of 12-minutes to normalize thermally by dissipating heat via the provided heatsink, 10 x 10 x 1/4 inches in dimension and this aluminum sink is mounted to the body. Its damping factor lies at 0.0045 Nm/Krpm and the maximum static friction torque is 0.0190 Nm. The R22HDNA motor weighs 0.95 kg and supports up to 18000 RPM speed with the built-in extended life bearings.

Frequently Asked Questions about R22HDNA-R1-NS-NV-01:

Q: How does the totally enclosed non-ventilated (TENV) design benefit the R22HDNA-R1-NS-NV-01 motor?

A: The TENV design protects internal components from environmental contaminants and reduces the risk of fan failure. It enables usage in dusty or wet conditions without external ventilation requirements.

Q: Why is a resolver used as the primary feedback device in the R22HDNA-R1-NS-NV-01 motor?

A: Resolvers are robust in extreme environments and provide continuous position tracking. This ensures reliable speed and position control in demanding industrial applications.

Q: What advantage does the 0.0045 Nm/Krpm viscous damping coefficient offer in the R22HDNA motor?

A: It provides enhanced stability by minimizing oscillations during high-speed rotations. This helps in smoother motion profiles, especially during start-stop cycles.

Q: How does the high back EMF constant of 0.18 V/rad/sec affect the motor’s efficiency?

A: A higher back EMF constant improves voltage utilization during high-speed operation. This contributes to efficient energy conversion in dynamic motion systems.

Q: Why is the rotor inertia of 0.011 kg·m² x 10⁻³ important in the R22HDNA-R1-NS-NV-01 motor?

A: Low rotor inertia allows for rapid acceleration and deceleration. This is ideal for applications requiring quick directional changes and precision motion.
