The P22NSXB-LNN-NS-03 is a two-phase stepper motor produced by Pacific Scientific within the POWERMAX II P Motors series. With its NEMA mounting interface and single smooth shaft, the unit converts drive current into discrete angular increments, enabling repeatable position control for indexing tables, pick-and-place axes, and small gantries. Its receptacle connection supports straightforward integration into modular machines, while the standard rotor and stack arrangement provides torque density within an envelope compatible with compact industrial frames.
The motor uses a NEMA 23 frame, so the front face and pilot diameter align with common motion platforms. Each electrical excitation advances the rotor by 1.8°, producing 200 discrete steps across a full revolution and allowing direct positioning without external reduction. Positional tolerance remains within ±1.5% of a nominal step, supporting consistent incremental movement during multi-turn operation. The motor employs 2 stator phases with winding code B. No feedback devices are fitted, so a microstepping drive must track the rotor position by counting command pulses. The smooth, single-ended shaft simplifies connection to timing pulleys or flexible couplings while avoiding the wear points associated with keyways.
Thermal protection is provided by insulation rated as Class B at 130 °C, and the windings are proof-tested at 340 VDC to reduce the risk of insulation breakdown when used with high-energy chopper drives. Insulation resistance remains 100 MΩ under dry conditions, supporting low leakage in control cabinets operating from -20 °C to +40 °C. The laminated rotor is supported by bearings rated for a maximum axial load of 13 lb and a maximum radial load of 20 lb. Coupling thrust and belt tension must remain within these limits to prevent excessive bearing stress and premature fatigue. The receptacle wiring provides a direct electrical connection without requiring permanently attached motor leads.
