Product Description:
The P22NSXA-LSS-SS-12 is a two-stack hybrid stepper motor built by Pacific Scientific within the POWERMAX II P Motors series. Intended for incremental positioning, the device converts electronic step commands into discrete angular movement, providing repeatable motion for pick-and-place heads, small gantries, and indexing conveyors. Standard construction techniques, a receptacle-style connector, and NEMA-compliant mounting make it suitable for equipment that uses motors in this size class.
The motor’s mechanical envelope follows the NEMA 23 frame standard, giving a square body that measures 57.10 mm across the flats; this size helps determine the fit of couplings, brackets, and shrouds. A step angle of 1.8 degrees lets the rotor advance in small, uniform increments, enabling fine control without a feedback sensor. Electrical safety is supported by an insulation resistance of 100 Megohms, which helps reduce leakage current during high-voltage tests. The winding system also withstands 340 Vdc insulation voltage, which is the high-potential test level commonly applied after repair or incoming inspection. These ratings allow the motor to operate with microstepping drives that use high bus voltages for improved torque-speed curves.
High-resolution positioning is obtained from the motor’s native 200 steps per shaft revolution, and overall precision is maintained by a +/- 1.5 % step accuracy that helps limit cumulative position error over long move sequences. The operating temperature range is -20 °C to +40 °C, allowing use in unheated equipment rooms or lightly ventilated control cabinets. Thermal endurance is supported by Class B, 130 °C winding insulation, so the coil temperature can reach 130 °C without premature degradation when the motor is operated within its intended limits. The dual-stack magnetic construction works with a 66.67 mm mounting bolt circle and a 38.10 mm pilot diameter to support stable torque and straightforward mechanical integration.
