Product Description:
The P22NSHA-LNF-NS-03 hybrid stepper motor is produced by Pacific Scientific as part of the POWERMAX II P Motors series. Designed for open-loop positioning tasks in industrial automation, the motor receives pulse commands from a drive or PLC and converts them into discrete shaft rotation without the need for feedback devices. This operating method suits indexing and positioning duties where commanded step count determines shaft movement.
Built on a NEMA 23 frame, the motor uses a standard rotor and housing. It installs with the common mounting flange and uses a 6.35 mm single shaft machined with a flat for set-screw couplings. It develops 1.39 Nm of holding torque, while axial and radial load limits of 58 N and 89 N help protect the bearings during belt or gear drives. Each of the four parallel leads carries 6.5 A DC, and with winding code A this current matches low-voltage chopper drives. The electrical circuit has a phase inductance of 0.80 mH and a resistance of 0.21 Ω, which minimize electrical time constants and improve response. Rotor displacement occurs in 1.8° steps, aided by two stator stacks and a rotor inertia of 0.025 × 10⁻³ kg·m² for moderate acceleration capability. Step accuracy remains within ±1.5%. The motor uses standard construction with no feedback, Class B insulation, 100 MΩ insulation resistance, a 340 Vdc dielectric rating, and 4.5 °C/W thermal resistance.
Resolution reaches 200 steps per revolution, eliminating the need for micro-stepping in many light-duty axes. Continuous service is rated from -20 °C to +40 °C, and the insulation system tolerates 130 °C winding temperature within that range. With a mass of 1.13 kg, the unit is easy to mount on small frames yet still handles the specified dynamic forces. The NEMA mounting style, 4-lead wiring, standard rotor type, and no-feedback configuration support integration in printer stages, pick-and-place heads, and medical dispensers. The four-lead arrangement also allows straightforward connection to compatible bipolar stepper drives.
