Product Description:
The M22NSXA-LDN-SS-02 is a two-phase hybrid stepper motor manufactured by Pacific Scientific as part of the POWERMAX II M Motors series. Designed for open-loop positioning tasks in pick-and-place units, indexing tables, and other industrial automation axes, the motor converts digital pulse commands into discrete angular movement with high repeatability. Its NEMA 23 frame fits common drive mounts, while the enhanced construction provides the thermal and mechanical endurance required for continuous-duty motion control. This frame format also provides a compact mounting footprint for automated machinery with limited installation space.
Each phase carries a drive current of 3.3 A DC through windings with a cold resistance of 0.85 Ω and an inductance of 2.6 mH. Under this excitation, the rotor produces a holding torque of 1.62 N·m, while the detent torque is 0.12 N·m when the motor is unpowered. The motor advances in 1.8-degree increments, providing 200 steps per revolution with a step accuracy of ±1.5%. Two electrical phases use winding type A across the model’s dual stacks. The standard rotor has an inertia of 0.0000252 kg·m², supporting rapid acceleration during repetitive positioning cycles. A receptacle connector serves as the single power interface and allows the motor cable to be connected without exposed winding leads.
The motor supports an axial shaft load of 58 N and a radial shaft load of 89 N. These loads are carried by the double-ended smooth shaft supplied with the motor. The NEMA mounting flange aligns the housing with compatible machine mounts without requiring additional adapters. Class B insulation permits a maximum winding temperature of 130 °C, while an insulation resistance of 100 megohms helps prevent current leakage. The insulation system has a dielectric withstand voltage of 340 VDC. Acceptable ambient temperatures range from -20 °C to +40 °C, allowing operation during cold starts and in moderately warm machine environments. The motor uses its housing to dissipate heat and does not require an auxiliary cooling system.
