The POWERMAX II M Motors series from Pacific Scientific includes the M22NRFA-LNN-NS-00, a hybrid two-phase stepper motor intended for precise incremental motion in pick-and-place heads, small conveyors, and indexing tables used in industrial automation. Its NEMA 23 frame allows it to attach to standard gearboxes or brackets. The internal magnetic design produces consistent holding torque for open-loop positioning tasks, and the motor is supplied without a feedback device.
With a native step angle of 1.8 degrees, the rotor generates 200 discrete steps per revolution, and microstepping can refine that motion while maintaining step accuracy within ±1.5%. A detent torque of 0.12 N·m resists unintended shaft movement when the coils are unpowered. The laminated core uses two stacks and provides a rotor inertia of 0.0000252 kg·m², balancing acceleration against overshoot. Dual A-type windings span two phases and exit as eight flying leads for series or parallel wiring. The enhanced housing measures 78.7 mm long and 57.15 mm wide, while its 38.1 mm pilot fits within the 66.67 mm bolt circle. Insulation resistance is 100 megohms, and Class B materials tolerate internal temperatures up to 130 °C. Continuous operation is permitted from -20 °C to +40 °C. A shaft diameter of 6.35 mm accommodates commonly used couplings.
The motor has a single smooth shaft that extends 20.57 mm beyond the front bearing, and it uses a standard rotor. It withstands an axial load of 58 N, allowing the shaft to tolerate moderate thrust without additional support. The permitted radial load is 89 N, providing capacity for direct belt tension. Its total mass is 1.13 kg, which limits the additional moving load placed on gantry axes. The insulation system withstands a 340 VDC test voltage. The pilot seats in the mating bore, while four fasteners clamp the flange securely to the mounting surface.
