The M21NSXD-JDN-NS-02 is a two-phase stepper motor supplied by Pacific Scientific within the POWERMAX II M Motors series. Designed to deliver incremental rotary motion without position feedback devices, the unit indexes mechanical loads in pick-and-place stations, small conveyors, and laboratory automation. Its NEMA-conforming frame supports installation with common drive modules, mounting hardware, and motion controllers used in industrial systems.
Each full step advances the shaft by 1.8 degrees, so one mechanical revolution is subdivided into 200 steps per revolution for straightforward pulse counting. The motor body matches a NEMA 23 flange, giving it a 2.25-inch width across the flats and permitting direct installation with standard gearheads or brackets. When the motor is de-energized, it provides a detent torque of 9.4 oz-in. The low-inertia rotor has a moment of inertia of 0.0013 oz-in-s², supporting rapid acceleration with modest drive current. Internal windings follow a D pattern and are arranged in two distinct phase groups. The controller must therefore supply current to two phases with proper lead sequencing to generate continuous torque.
