The PMA45Q-10100-00 is a brushless servomotor produced by Pacific Scientific within the PMA Brushless Motors series. Designed for closed-loop positioning, the unit converts electrical energy from a matched drive into controlled mechanical rotation for robots, pick-and-place heads, and other automated axes. An integrated resolver provides real-time shaft-angle feedback to the drive, allowing precise velocity regulation and repeatable position control throughout demanding duty cycles in industrial automation. This arrangement supports axes that must start, stop, and reverse frequently while maintaining stable feedback to the control loop.

Under continuous load the motor can sustain 10.2 Nm of stall torque without overheating, which indicates steady holding capability when motion is locked. For brief accelerations it produces up to 36.8 Nm, giving additional torque for rapid indexing before thermal limits are reached. The laminated rotor carries 0.84×10⁻³ kg·m² of inertia, which helps balance quick response with smooth behavior during repeated starts, stops, and direction changes. To obtain rated torque, the drive must supply 7.4 ARMS at stall, and the winding insulation is sized for the 240–480 V AC class, making the motor compatible with many factory servo amplifiers in this voltage range.

Mechanical integration is simplified by the square housing, which measures 115 mm across the mounting face, and the frame weighs 10.4 kg. That mass helps keep moving structures manageable on gantries or articulated joints with limited payload. Power enters through a right-angle connector that keeps cabling low in tight cabinets and terminates on a 6PP (6-pin power) plug, so phase conductors and protective ground are secured by a bayonet ring. A closed keyway shaft with a fitted key transfers torque to pulleys or couplings, and the motor has no brake, which eliminates residual drag when the axis is de-energized.
