Product Description:
The PMA43N-Y0100-02 is a brushless servomotor manufactured by Pacific Scientific within the PMA Brushless Motors series. It is intended for closed-loop positioning and speed control in automated machinery where repeatable motion is required. When paired with a compatible drive, the motor supplies commanded torque to conveyor axes, pick-and-place heads, or light gantry systems for precise rotary actuation. Its brushless design also supports low-maintenance operation because there are no brushes to wear during normal duty cycles.
A continuous stall torque of 6.1 Nm shows the load the shaft can withstand indefinitely while locked, whereas peak torque rises to 21.7 Nm for short acceleration bursts. Dynamic response is influenced by a rotor inertia of 0.52 × 10−3 kg·m², which provides a balance between fast response and stable control. The rated winding current at stall is 3.8 A RMS, so the selected amplifier must supply that level without exceeding thermal limits. The winding voltage class spans 240–480 V AC, allowing connection to medium- or high-voltage servo drives used on three-phase mains. Because the motor is supplied without a brake, holding force during power-off must come from an external mechanism if the application requires the shaft to remain fixed.
The motor weighs 7.6 kg, which is useful when selecting mounting hardware and evaluating the moving mass of the axis. A square frame of 115 mm on each side provides a standardized footprint for integration with gearboxes or machine plates. Power and feedback leads exit through a right-angle housing, which keeps cable bends close to the frame in shallow enclosures, and the power plug follows the industry 6-pin pattern labeled 6PP. Position feedback is supplied by a resolver, providing analog sine-cosine signals with good noise tolerance in industrial environments. The magnetic stack length is coded as 3, indicating the lamination depth selected for this motor length and torque class.
