The PMA42Q-01100-00 is a brushless servo motor manufactured by Pacific Scientific for the PMA Brushless Motors series. It uses permanent-magnet excitation and electronic commutation to deliver regulated rotary motion in automated machinery. A resolver mounted at the rear supplies closed-loop rotor position feedback, allowing the connected drive to monitor shaft angle and correct speed or torque as operating conditions change. The smooth shaft supports direct coupling to gearheads, pulleys, or load fixtures, which makes the motor suitable for pick-and-place gantries, indexing tables, and other axes that require repeatable motion control.

Mechanical output includes a continuous stall torque of 4.1 Nm, allowing the motor to hold load at zero speed without exceeding its thermal limits during normal duty. For short acceleration events, the electromagnetic design supports a peak torque of 14.6 Nm, which helps the axis respond to rapid starts, stops, and brief shock loads. Producing that torque requires a winding stall current of 7.4 ARMS, so the matching amplifier must supply sufficient current without entering foldback. The rotor inertia is 0.36 × 10⁻³ kg·m², which helps the motor respond quickly to command changes and supports stable tuning on responsive axes. The windings are built for a voltage class of 240–480 V AC, allowing use with standard three-phase servo amplifiers in industrial systems.

The housing has a square frame that measures 115 mm on each side, giving the motor a compact mounting footprint for equipment with limited installation space. Its total mass is 6.2 kg, which keeps the unit manageable on moving assemblies while still providing a solid mechanical presence on the axis. Electrical power is routed through a 6PP right-angle connector that helps reduce cable bend stress in tight layouts.
