Product Description:
The PMA42P-11100-00 brushless servomotor is produced by Pacific Scientific within the PMA Brushless Motors series. It is intended for integration with a compatible digital drive, where its feedback resolver and keyed shaft deliver synchronous, closed-loop rotary motion to conveyors, pick-and-place heads, and other machinery that demand repeatable positioning. As a brushless permanent-magnet design, it eliminates commutator wear and helps reduce routine maintenance in continuous-duty automation.
The motor supplies a continuous stall torque of 4.1 Nm; this is the torque it can hold indefinitely without overheating. During short acceleration or deceleration events, the electromagnetic system can reach a peak torque of 14.6 Nm, allowing rapid cycle changes. The square housing measures 115 mm on each side, a dimension that affects flange compatibility and cabinet spacing. To sustain the rated stall torque, the windings draw 5.4 ARMS at their nominal point, and they are insulated for a drive bus in the 240-480 V AC class, which matches common three-phase industrial supplies. A stack length code of 2 indicates an extended active core that increases flux density without enlarging the frame.
Additional features support reliable installation. The rotor has an inertia of 0.36 kg·m² × 10⁻³, providing a balance between quick response and load damping for indexers and light presses. Power is routed through a 6PP right-angle connector so cable runs can remain inside machine contours. A fail-safe 24 V brake locks the shaft when power is removed, improving safety on vertical axes and during emergency stops. Overall mass is 6.2 kg, which is light enough for moving beams while still helping absorb thermal transients. The closed keyway with its fitted key prevents torsional slip, and the resolver delivers rotor position feedback over a full rotation.
